Fall is a fun festival season around Richmond. And for those of you who live in an apartment in Glen Allen, VA, November has some really fun festivities coming up. Beer, cider, stew, moonshine, oyster roasts and a Quidditch festivals are all on tap this month. Here are a few of the festivals you can enjoy this coming weekend.
Ukefest 2014 - Nov. 7 & 8
UkeFest Virginia features wall to wall music and workshops where fans can learn from their favorite performers as well as Ukenanny Jams where fans can play with festival performers. UkeFest Virginia kicks off Friday evening with a 2nd Stage concert from 7-9 p.m. on the Sam Ash Music Stage by The Broad Street Ramblers and by Stuart Fuchs followed by an open ukulele jam until 10 p.m. The fest continues Saturday starting at 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets to concerts and workshops start at $15 and up.
Urbanna Oyster Festival - Nov. 7-9
Sure, this isn’t a Richmond festival. But so many Richmonders make the trek to Urbanna to enjoy all things oysters, we had to include it.
Carytown Food & Wine Festival Nov. 9
Celebrate Carytown’s vibrant restaurants with more than a dozen of Virginia’s finest wineries. Sip and sample your way through this festival. Noon to 6 p.m. $25 in advance, $30 at the gate.
GRAZE on Grace - Nov. 9
Think of it as a mini-Broad Appetit. GRAZE on Grace is a food festival on Grace Street serving up sampling dishes from over 25 of Richmond’s best restaurants. The event will take place on four blocks of Grace Street from 4th to 7th Street. Admission is free and sample plates are set at $3. Noon to 5 p.m.
