March is named after Mars, the Roman god of war
as it was the month in which the military campaigning season
got under way after winter. March is Women’s History Month,
National Fire Prevention Month, American Red Cross Month
and National Nutrition Month.

As a reminder: Building 4710 and half of Building 11600 (units 101-104, 201 & 202) will be completed during the sprinkler head repair the week of March 13-17. This way we will only go into these apartments once.

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

Buildings 4800, 4801, 4811, 4821, 4901, 4911, 4921, 4931, 4941

We will start at 9:00 am. During this time we will need access to each room in your home and also the balcony.

We will be changing your filter, checking all water sources for any leaks, checking for mold and humidity levels.

Please have any pets crated or removed from your home for the day and make sure there is nothing blocking the HVAC vent.

If you use your own filter and do not wish for us to replace it, please leave a note next to the HVAC vent.

We cannot schedule appointments for these days as we never know how long each apartment could take.

Thai Pork Salad with Cellophane Noodles

  • 2 cups cellophane or rice noodles
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2-3 Tbs. Chinese five-spice seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 Tbs. fresh ginger root, minced
  • 2 Tbs. brown sugar
  • 1 cup plain peanuts, roughly chopped
  • 4 scallions, finely sliced
  • 2 cups loosely packed cilantro, chopped
  • 1 cup loosely packed mint, chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, minced (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 Tbs. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbs. extra virgin olive oil, divided
  • 1/2 tsp coarse salt

  1. Soak the noodles in boiling water for a few minutes and drain. Reserve the noodles in a large bowl. Heat 1 Tbs. oil in a pan over medium-high and start browning the pork. Once almost done, add the five-spice powder. Toss around for a second. Add the garlic, ginger, jalapeno, brown sugar, peanuts and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine and take off heat.
  2. To the bowl with the noodles, add the mint, cilantro, scallions and red bell pepper. Add the browned pork mixture and toss to combine. Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture. Drizzle with soy sauce and remaining extra virgin olive oil.

Friendly Reminders

  • Do not place any trash outside your front door; this includes bags, boxes, and pet waste bags; this can attract pests and is unsightly
  • As it warm weather approaches, it is a good idea to test out your air conditioning so that you can let us know if it needs to be serviced before it gets too hot outside
  • Please be sure to clean up after your pet at all times

Office Closed

The Leasing Office will be closed on March 8th for a company event. A member of the maintenance team will be onsite for emergencies only.

FLSA Sprinkler Replacement

On Monday, March 13th Fire & Life Safety America (FLSA) will begin replacing sprinkler heads on the balconies of the following buildings:

Building 4710 101, 102, 103, 104, 201, 202, 203, 204, 301, 302, 303, 304, 106, 108, 206, 208, 306 and 308
Building 11600 101, 102, 103, 104, 201 and 202

FLSA will need to cut a 12”x 12” hole in the bedroom closet that is behind the head. Depending on what side the head is located will determine which bedroom FLSA will cut the hole, and all items from the top shelf of the closet will need to be removed. Our maintenance team will then cover the hole with a 12” x 12” access panel. If holes larger than 12”x 12” need to be cut, they will be repaired on March 17th. A member of The Gardens Team will be present with FLSA in your apartment home at all times.

Please say Happy Birthday to…

Our maintenance tech, Willy on March 19th!
